Must Eat: Waterloo & City, A British Gastropub in Culver City

Several friends highly recommended this place, so we decided to give it a try.  If you're looking for a fabulous beer selection, and hearty "gourmet" british fare, this is the place. The food was excellent, though I should warn you - it's all a bit rich, and you will leave very full!
The tuna tartare appetizer was good. Yes. That is a fried pastry puff on top. We also tried the pork and truffle pate with Madeira jelly, which was delightful!

I had the hand-cut pasta with English peas and Italian Sausage. I loved this dish! To my surprise, it was actually one of the best pasta dishes I've had in LA so far!

J had the pork leg confit. Yes the skin was fried to provide a cripsy crust and meat was very moist and tender. It is hard to tell the scale from this photo but that leg was HUGE. J is a hearty eater and he still had enough leftovers for two days worth of lunch!!

Brussel sprouts were a nice vegetable side. They were good, but we've had better.

For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding. It was extremely decadent and a bit sweet for my taste. By then we were all completely stuffed so I just had a few bites with my coffee which was a nice ending to meal.

We really enjoyed this dinner. The food was different and tasty.  The atmosphere laid back and fun.   We went with a group and everyone left satisfied and happy.   It gets busy so it's a good idea to call ahead and make reservations.
