Bake: Irish Soda Bread with Raisins


Happy St Patrick's Day! Today I'm sharing this recipe that always gets rave reviews!  Not only is it super delicious, it is extremely easy to make! It is great served with butter and jam for breakfast.
Irish Soda Bread with Raisins (adapted from Irresistable Irish Soda Bread recipe)
Ingredients
  • 3 cups all purpose flour 
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder 
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda 
  • 1/3 cup sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 1 cup raisins 
  • 2 cups buttermilk 
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten 
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F 
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt in a large bowl 
  3. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk and egg 
  4. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture, combine but do not overmix 
  5. Add melted butter, combine 
  6. Pour into a prepared loaf pay (spray with PAM) 
  7. Bake for about 1 hour, or until done
